Age is But a Number!
Heya,friends! I’m new to this site, so bear with me!(;
This past weekend I had the pleasure of serving with Drama Queens for the King at the Brickyard 400! It was so fun getting to minister to girls of all ages and listening to their life story. Young or old they all had stories. Stories that could move you to tears and stories that could make your heart ache with compassion. One story in particular comes to mind. In fact we weren’t even at the tent when I hear this story, we were at Cracker Barrel! This is how it all happened…
I was looking around the little shop area of Cracker Barrel, when an elderly lady that worked there asked me how I was. I told her I was fine and asked how she was in return. She replied “Good, thank you!”. She proceeded to ask me if I was there for the Brickyard. I told her I was and that I was there with Drama Queens for the King and gave her my DQK bracelet as I told her about it. She thanked me and said that she had two great nieces, that were going through a hard time and would absolutely love DQK. I asked what their names were and said I would be praying for them. She thanked me and moved a few feet away from me. Her chin started to tremble and she wiped a tear from her eye. Before I left I asked if I could pray for her. She said yes and pulled me into a little corner of the shop and there I prayed for her. After, she thanked me and we parted ways.
I think about this story and one thought comes to mind: No matter what the age difference is, and if your willing and open, you have a chance to share Jesus with others at anytime and anywhere. This doesn’t mean that you need to go to your local Cracker Barrel to find someone to minister to! God will place the right people in your life at the right moment, whether you’ve known them your whole life or just met them. It can be someone older then you or someone younger than you. All you have to do is to be willing and open when that moment comes and you’ll get to see the awesome things God can do through YOU!
